What to expect
The Grief Café is held at St Andrews Church Centre on the first Monday of every month. It is open to anyone who is grieving, no matter how long ago the person you loved died. People of all faiths or none are very welcome.
There is no need to book a place at the Grief Café, you can just drop in and stay for as long or short a time as you like. When you arrive you will receive a warm welcome from the volunteer, who will introduce you to the rest of the group.
The Grief Café is run by volunteers who can offer an empathetic listening ear. The aim is to create a space where you can connect with others, feel heard, supported, and less alone. It is not a counselling service. If you feel you need more support the volunteers will be able to signpost you to other local organisations.
