What to expect

RVS are looking for Retail Volunteers to help out in their cafes at Addenbrookes Hospital, Clay Farm Community Centre and Meadows Community Centre. These volunteering roles are a great opportunity to make new friends, grow your skills and experience, and help your local community.

The role involves preparing and selling food and drinks, and chatting to members of the public. You will need a friendly personality, good listening skills and a compassionate approach when dealing with customers. The role is open to those aged 16 and over. No previous experience is needed.

If you are interested in volunteering with RVS, visit their website to find and apply for current opportunities. You can enter your postcode to find the opportunity nearest to you. You will need to set up an account giving your name, date of birth and email address, and you can then apply by completing the online application form.

Once they have received your application you’ll be invited to a welcome meeting where you’ll be able to meet the team and observe them to see what the role involves. You will be provided with a t-shirt and apron, and the team will explain the training that you will need to complete. They will then arrange your first shift as a volunteer.

There are no costs associated with volunteering and full training will be provided.
