What to expect
Hope Support Services is suitable for young people aged 5-25 based in the UK who have a loved one with a serious illness, or who were recently bereaved due to a serious illness.
The support sessions last 45 minutes and can be booked up to fortnightly. There is no limit on the number of sessions the young person can have.
The support is low-level and focuses on offering a safe space to talk about feelings and worries, and look at healthy coping strategies and managing difficult emotions. It helps young people process grief and anticipatory grief.
They also have blogs and stories with useful information, and tips from parents and young people.
"Hope were there for me when dad got ill, they were the only people I could talk to about how I was feeling." - Hope young person
