Community meals

Back to Support

There are several places in Cambridge where you can enjoy a freshly cooked meal with other members of the community for free (or for a small donation). Other organisations prepare hot meals which you can take away.

FoodCycle Cambridge run a free sit-down community lunch every Saturday at 12.30pm at St Andrew’s Street Baptist Church. All are welcome. The hot, nutritious meals are made using surplus food from local shops and supermarkets – so by coming along you are helping tackle food waste. The meals are prepared and served by friendly volunteers in a welcoming environment. There is no need to book – just go along! Visit their website for more information.

Cambridge Community Kitchen provide free, hot, plant-based meals to anyone who needs them, cooked and distributed by volunteers. Every Tuesday from 6.30-8.30pm there is a free community meal at the Lockon on Fair Street (near the Grafton Centre). Everyone is welcome to join to eat with others, or take food away. Every Thursday and Sunday meals are available to collect, or you can apply to have them delivered to your home instead (if you live within CB1 to CB5 districts). Find out more and sign up for meals here.
