Premier League Kicks sessions are free football sessions for children and young people, run by Cambridge United Foundation during term time.
This activity is good for wellbeing because
- You can get active, have fun and spend time outdoors;
- You can meet new people, socialise and form new friendships;
- Taking part in sports and physical activity can improve your mental wellbeing –improving self-esteem and confidence.
“My friends have been going since the start of the year, but I never really enjoyed football. They said that there were other things to do, so I decided to go. I now go on Thursday and Fridays every week and I have even started to join in the football, but I enjoy the volleyball most”.

What to expect
The free after-school Premier League Kicks sessions are open to people aged 8-18 living in Cambridge. The sessions aim to support young people of all backgrounds and abilities in football, sport and personal development.
They are held in the following locations:
- Orchard Park Sports Ground (Mondays)
- Netherhall School Sports Centre (Tuesdays)
- Abbey Leisure Astro (Wednesdays and Thursdays)
- Trumpington Community College (Fridays)
The age groups for the sessions vary, with the youngest session hosting children aged 8 years and above and the oldest session hosting young people aged up to 18 years.
