Cambridge Women's Resources Centre is a community space that provides services to empower women to change their lives for the better. Women can receive support around challenges they are experiencing, and also attend social groups with other women.

This activity is good for wellbeing because

  • You can get involved with group activities and make new friends;
  • You can be creative and challenge yourself to try something new;
  • You can receive support for issues you may be experiencing.

What to expect

Cambridge Women’s Resources Centre is a welcoming, accessible female-only space that supports women seeking positive change for themselves and their families. The centre tailors their support to every individual woman, and supports her to find her voice.

They provide support and information on issues including family and parenting, debt and finance, employability and career development. They also provide relaxed creative groups and workshops for women to spend time with other women.

The centre is located on Sturton Street in Central Cambridge. It is easily accessible by bus, train, foot or bicycle and has two car parking spaces.

The centre is open Monday to Friday. Visit their website to see the opening times. You are welcome to drop in whenever the centre is open for a cup of tea or coffee and a chat. You can also help yourself to clothes, books, toiletries and period products that have been donated to the centre.

Creative Groups
There is a drop-in art group at the centre every Thursday. This is a safe space for women to relax, chat and enjoy some creative time. Everyone is welcome, no experience needed. Coffee, biscuits and all art materials are supplied. There are sometimes other creative groups on offer too. Check the timetable on the website for more information.

ESOL groups
Cambridge Women’s Resources Centre run a weekly English class taught by a qualified ESOL teacher.  They also run a weekly informal Chat Café where you can practise listening and speaking English in a relaxed friendly group. Visit the website form more information.

Support
The centre also provides support on a one-to-one basis and through various groups. Support is available in areas including employability and domestic violence, and there is a programme who have had contact with the criminal justice system.
