Art Courses at Rowan

Back to Activities

Rowan is an independent charity which provides an arts centre and forest school for adults with learning disabilities. They also run evening art courses that are open to everyone in the community. Anyone of any age, ability or level of experience is welcome.

This activity is good for wellbeing because

  • you will meet new people in a friendly space with a real sense of community and connection through art;
  • you will learn new skills and explore using different materials;
  • painting, drawing and crafting are mindful activities which can help you to relax.

What to expect

Community evening classes are held at Rowan at various points throughout the year, led by experienced instructors. Topics include pottery, sewing, crochet, drawing, and painting with watercolours. For details of upcoming courses visit the Rowan website.

The Rowan arts centre is fully accessible to wheelchairs and has disabled toilets throughout the building.

There is no parking on site, but street parking is available and free after 5pm each day. There are also regular buses on Chesterton Road just a five minute walk away.
