Dancing for Joy is a free weekly activity at Heathlands House Care Home. Anyone from the local community is welcome to join residents for the sessions, which offer a great opportunity to reminisce and stimulate the brain through movement.
This activity is good for wellbeing because
- It is welcoming, inclusive and fun, offering a wellbeing boost;
- It provides some gentle exercise and an opportunity for emotional expression;
- Research has found that dancing can have a positive impact on the cognitive function of people with dementia.
“This is such a fun session full of laughter and good for keeping fit, my husband and I thoroughly enjoy it.”
