Cambridge United Foundation run disability sports sessions to provide opportunities for people with additional needs to experience the benefits of being physically active. They run various impairment-specific sessions and also a number of mixed disability (Pan) sessions.
This activity is good for wellbeing because
- You can get active in a fun and enjoyable way, no matter your physical ability;
- Taking part in sports and physical activity can improve your mental wellbeing, increase your self-esteem and confidence and give you a sense of purpose;
- It provides an opportunity to socialise with friends and meet new people.

What to expect
Cambridge United Foundation runs several different weekly disability sport sessions at Coleridge Community College on Radegund Road. There is an overview of the different groups on offer below:
- Down’s syndrome football (age 9+)
- Pan disability football (age 9-15)
- Frame football (under 16s)
- Blind football (age 5+)
- Autism intermediate (age 9-15)
- Autism advanced (age 16+)
- Powerchair football (age 9+)
- Pan disability football (under 8’s)
- Pan disability football (age 16+)
Cambridge United Foundation also runs a weekly session of football for adults with learning disabilities at Abbey Leisure Astro.
