Family Events – North Cambridge Community Partnership

Back to Activities

The North Cambridge Community Partnership runs events for children and families in Arbury and King's Hedges. Their regular events include a toddler group, Lego Club and Science Club for children, and a gardening club for people of all ages. Everyone is welcome.

This activity is good for wellbeing because

  • It’s a great way of meeting people, socialising and forming new friendships;
  • You and your children can learn new skills, which may give you a confidence boost;
  • It can help you feel more connected to your local community – and there are opportunities to volunteer.

Events and Activities

These are the regular activities organised by the North Cambridge Community Partnership. Activities are subject to change, and there are also one-off events throughout the year. The best way to stay up to date what what’s happening is to follow NCCP on Facebook or email [email protected].

NCCP also produce a newsletter twice a year. Visit the website to subscribe to the newsletter and read previous editions.

Lego Club runs on Thursdays 3.30pm – 4.30pm (term-time only) at Campkin Community Centre on Campkin Road. All children aged 5 and above are welcome to come and play. Attendance is free and there’s no need to book!

Toddler Group Little Rainbows is a space for parents and toddlers to meet and play together. It runs on Tuesdays 10am -12pm at Campkin Community Centre on Campkin Road. There are toys, books and crafts for children to play with. Sessions are free and lunch and refreshments are provided.

Science Club for primary school children runs a few times per year, in collaboration with the Cambridge Science Centre. Sessions are held weekly (term-time only) on Wednesdays 4pm-5pm at Campkin Community Centre on Campkin Road. Sessions are free but they ask for a small (optional) donation. You need to book your place online, booking links are shared on the NCCP Facebook group. Check individual event descriptions for details.

Gardening Club runs regularly. Adults and children of all ages are invited to help in the community garden with tasks including weeding, mulching and planting. The gardening club will give you the opportunity to meet new people, learn and share skills. For upcoming dates email [email protected] or visit the the NCCP Facebook group.

Volunteering opportunities

The NCCP is a non-profit organisation run by and for the local community. They are always looking for volunteers to help at workshops and community events, distribute newsletters or on the committee. They are also currently looking for volunteers to help them update their website, and for individuals experienced in fundraising to help them with funding applications.  Email [email protected] to arrange a chat and get involved!

Most of the events and activities run by NCCP are free of charge.

Some of the events and activities request a small donation from participants.
