Homeless and Vulnerably Housed Football – Cambridge United Foundation

Back to Activities

Cambridge United Foundation run free weekly football sessions for people who are homeless or vulnerably housed. The sessions are for people aged 16+ of all levels of ability. Football is for everyone, and this group aims to make the game accessible to those facing barriers.

This activity is good for wellbeing because

  • It’s a friendly group where you can meet new people and enjoy playing football without judgement;
  • There is a proven link between exercise and improved quality of life;
  • Players often comment on the importance of the community and friendships developed playing sport.

What to expect

Sessions are held on Tuesday lunchtimes. During the winter months they are held at Kelsey Kerridge, and in the warmer months the sessions move outside onto Parkers Piece. The sessions are free so you can just turn up and play.

There is no need to commit to coming every week, just come when you can. It’s worth letting Cambridge United Foundation know prior to your first session if you will be attending so they can look out for you. You can phone them on 01223 632129, email [email protected] or book online on the Official Soccer School website.
