What to expect
KAMAQUA offers adaptive swimming lessons and hydrotherapy sessions for children and adults with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) who want to develop swimming skills, improve motor coordination, and benefit from hydrotherapy in a supportive environment. Sessions are tailored to each individual's needs and skill level, combining fun, skill development, and sensory integration exercises to support physical, emotional, and social wellbeing. No prior swimming experience is required.
The sessions are led by Kamila, a qualified instructor with specialist training and years of experience teaching people with all kinds of physical disabilities and learning difficulties. The first session begins with a gentle assessment to understand abilities, needs, and preferences. Attendees or parents can contact Kamila in advance to discuss any concerns or special requirements.
Adult sessions are on a one-to-one basis, children's sessions can either be one-to-one or in small groups (you can request to join a group at the point of booking, or create your own group with siblings or friends). Sessions typically last 30 mins or 1 hour.
Sessions are available between 9am and 3 pm. All sessions must be booked in advance. Visit the KAMAQUA website to find out more and fill in the contact form to register your interest.
