Love to Move Dementia Friendly Exercise

Back to Activities

Love to Move is a chair-based dementia-friendly exercise programme developed by the British Gymnastics Foundation. As well as exercise, there's a social aspect too - every session has a tea break for refreshments and chat. Classes held in Impington and online.

This activity is good for wellbeing because

  • Love to Move sessions are proven to get you moving and functioning better;
  • as well as chair-based exercises, sessions include time to chat and meet other people, reducing isolation;
  • there are online classes and a free booklet you can use to keep doing the exercises at home.

“You can’t believe the difference; I mean it’s just priceless. For all the therapy she’s had, this has been the thing that’s worked for her. She’s 93 and now she’s wanting to learn to stand so she can go home in the car. We just feel lucky to have had the opportunity to do it because it’s made such a difference.” Gill – daughter of a Love to Move participant
