Memory Café at Cherry Hinton Care Home

Back to Activities

The Memory Café at Cherry Hinton Care Home supports people living with dementia, as well as those who care for them. Activities include sing-along sessions, talks, presentations and afternoon tea. The sessions are free to attend.

This activity is good for wellbeing because

  • It provides an opportunity to interact with others which can combat loneliness;
  • It is a safe space for people with dementia and their carers to share experiences and receive support;
  • Taking part in activities is stimulating and can boost mental wellbeing.

What to expect

The Memory Café is held every other month on a Thursday. It is open to residents of Cherry Hinton Care Home and their families, and also anyone in the wider Cambridge community who is living with dementia or supporting someone who is.

The sessions give an opportunity for people to share their stories and exchange knowledge, ideas, and experiences with others in similar circumstances. Activities are arranged during the sessions, including sing-alongs and talks. For more information on upcoming sessions contact Scott Brooker on 01223 816 170 or [email protected].
