Memory Cafe at Trumpington Pavilion

Back to Activities

The Memory Cafe is a monthly social group at Trumpington Pavilion for people living with memory loss and their carers and companions. You can meet new people, enjoy a cuppa and a chat, take part in entertainment and sing songs together.

This activity is good for wellbeing because

  • Joining in with the singing and entertainment is uplifting and can give you a wellbeing boost;
  • You can meet people who have had similar experiences;
  • Living with memory loss can make socialising difficult but everyone in the group is understanding and supportive.

“We look forward to the sessions so much. We’ll go home today and immediately start looking forward to the one next month.”

Everyone’s so friendly here, they are like family.”

What to expect

The Memory Cafe is a place where people with varying forms of memory loss can visit with their carers and support each other and have fun. It is held on the third Wednesday of every month at Trumpington Pavilion from 10.30am to 12.30pm. It is run by St Mary and St Michael’s
Parish Church and The Rotary Club of Cambridge.

When you arrive at a session you will be greeted at the door and given a name badge to wear. You can then take a seat at one of the tables where you will be served your choice of tea or coffee with cakes and other snacks. During each session there will be opportunities to join in with singing and other entertainment, as well as time to chat with other attendees.

If you would like to attend a session call Janet on 01223 840268 to book your place.
