The Not Quite Over the Hill Club

Back to Activities

The Not Quite Over the Hill Club is a warm and friendly group where you can chat to others over a cup of tea or coffee and take part in social activities. The group is aimed at retired people, but anyone is welcome to go along if they would like some company.

This activity is good for wellbeing because

  • meeting for a coffee and a chat can help prevent loneliness and social isolation;
  • you will meet new people and become part of a friendly community;
  • there is the opportunity to go on day trips with the group, which can give you a wellbeing boost.

What to expect

The group runs from 10am – 12noon every Wednesday at Arbury Community Centre. Around fifty people attend each week. You can enjoy a cup of tea or coffee and chat with others. Some weeks you can take part in activities such as bingo or quizzes, on other weeks there are guest speakers.

After the session finishes, many of the members stay on for lunch at the Arboretum Café in the foyer area of the Community Centre. Once a month the group share fish and chips together. There are also other social events throughout the year, including trips to the seaside.
