parkrun is a free, fun, and friendly weekly 5k community event. Walk, jog, run, volunteer or spectate – it's up to you! It is not a race, there is no time limit and no-one finishes last.

This activity is good for wellbeing because

  • physical health is good for mental health;
  • it’s a great way to meet new people;
  • getting outside and in the fresh air feels great.

What to expect?

parkruns are positive, welcoming and inclusive events run by volunteers. Every Saturday at 9am people of all ages and abilities pull on their trainers and walk, run, volunteer or spectate. There is no time limit, everyone completes the 5k course at their own pace. It is free to take part but pre-registration via the parkrun website is essential before your first event.

All parkruns are volunteer organised and stewarded – if you would like to lend a hand, contact the parkrun you’d like to help.

After the parkrun people often go to a local café for a coffee – everyone is welcome to join.
