Simple Supper Community Meal

Back to Activities

Simple Supper is a free community meal hosted at St Paul's Church and Community Centre on Monday evenings. It is a homecooked, one course dinner which is usually vegetarian. Everyone is welcome. No need to book - just go along!

This activity is good for wellbeing because

  • You can spend time with other people and have friendly conversations;
  • You get to be part of a community where people look out for each other and all do their part to help out with the meal;
  • It's good, healthy food and a warm and safe place to be.

"I just love it here"
"It gives me a sense of normality"
"We come for the fellowship"

What to expect

Simple Supper is open to anyone. A real mix of people attend - some have experienced homelessness, some are well off, some are using the foodbank, some just enjoy the company. All value being part of a community. Most people come every week, so you can quickly get to know one another. When you come for the first time you can expect a friendly welcome.

The meal is served at 6pm. You can arrive from 5.30pm and stay until 7pm, but you are free to leave at any time. It's a one course dinner, cooked by volunteers that afternoon and is usually vegetarian. While enjoying the meal there is the chance to connect, exchange stories, and enjoy one another's company.

There is no need to book, just turn up, but if you have any questions contact office@stpaulscambridge.org.uk.
