TankToppers is a welcoming Cambridge outdoor fitness community designed for all abilities. They offer social, high-energy group workouts combining conditioning with functional equipment to help you improve your physical and mental fitness.

What to expect

What happens during sessions?
The sessions combine outdoor conditioning with functional gym equipment like kettlebells and dumbbells. There are three sessions a week and each has a slightly different focus. Sessions are led by qualified fitness professionals, who provide all the necessary equipment and guidance. ​When you attend a session for the first time you will be receive a warm welcome from the coach who will explain what to do for each exercise.

How long do sessions last?
Each session lasts an hour which includes a warm up, structured workout and cool-down. You should arrive 5 minutes before the listed start time.

Do I need to have any previous experience?
No experience needed, the sessions are entirely suitable for complete beginners - coaches actively adapt every exercise to individual fitness levels, ensuring everyone progresses safely alongside a supportive community.

How do I book?
TankToppers offer a free trial week so you can try up to four sessions before committing. To sign up visit the TankToppers website, click 'Start your Free Trial Week' and then choose the sessions you'd like to go along to.

Where do sessions take place?
Sessions take place on weekday evenings on Coldham's Common, at the end nearer the Abbey Leisure Complex. You will find a link to the exact location on their website when you sign up to the trial week.

What should I wear / bring?
You should wear trainers and sports clothing that you don't mind getting a bit muddy. You should bring a bottle of water.

Can I bring a carer / support person with me?
Yes, they are welcome to attend and there is plenty of space. If you have any specific requirements contact the team on [email protected] to discuss how best they can accommodate them.
