Trumpington Stitchers

Back to Activities

Trumpington Stitchers are a warm, welcoming group who get together to sew, crochet, felt and knit creative projects. Everyone is welcome, from complete beginners to experienced stitchers, and everyone in between!

This activity is good for wellbeing because

  • You will meet people of all ages with similar interests, and become part of the local community in Trumpington;
  • You will learn new creative skills, which can give you a confidence boost and sense of satisfaction;
  • Stitching is an absorbing, mindful activity which can help you to relax.

What to expect?

Trumpington Stitchers run two sessions each week, both of which are open to everyone, including complete beginners.

On Monday evenings they meet at Trumpington Pavilion for a general stitching and chat session. All equipment is provided, including sewing machines, and they can teach you how to get started on any stitching method you are interested in. You will need to bring your own materials to these sessions. Email [email protected] to find out what to bring.

On Tuesday mornings they meet in the café at the Clay Farm Centre, for their Stitch for Charity group, producing goods for local and national charities. At these sessions, yarn, needles and crochet hooks are provided and they can teach you how to knit and crochet. You don’t need to bring any equipment or materials.

For more information about the group visit the Trumpington Stitchers website. Both venues are fully wheelchair accessible and have toilets and easy parking.
