The VIP Group meets once a month for a natter over a cuppa and free lunch. There are speakers on interesting topics and you can also take part in various crafts, interactive music sessions and physical activities. It is free to attend and all adults are welcome.
This activity is good for wellbeing because
- There are lots of opportunities to connect with other people;
- Music can lift your spirits, and the other games and crafts on offer can help to stimulate mind and body;
- You get to meet different community groups, learn new skills and find out about things you enjoy doing.

What to expect
The group meets at Trumpington Pavilion on the second Wednesday of each month from 10.30am until 12 noon. It is free to attend. All adults aged 18+ are welcome to join.
It is a drop-in group, meaning you are welcome to arrive and leave at any point. When you arrive you will be greeted and asked to sign in giving your name. You will be offered a drink and something to eat.
There are different activities on offer at each session. For example:
- Interactive music sessions with Tutti Music Therapy
- Sports taster activities such as archery and table tennis with Living Sport.
- Craft activities with Linda Taylor, including French knitting, decorating jars and tiles, jewellery making.
- Talks from guest organisations, for example the Dogs Trust and the University of Cambridge Museums and Botanic Garden.
If you would prefer to not take part in the activities, you are welcome to sit and chat with others instead. Socialising is an important part of the group.

There is roadside parking available outside the Pavilion. The building has level access and is wheelchair friendly. There are disabled and general toilets available. There is a communal kitchen and lots of outdoor space.
Sessions are free to attend. Hot and cold drinks and lunch are provided.
