Virtual Village Hall

Back to Activities

The Virtual Village Hall is a free, online activity hub and community, run by the charity Royal Voluntary Service. It is designed to help people stay physically and mentally active, connected and having fun. No sign-in or subscription is required.

This activity is good for wellbeing because

  • Virtual Village Hall has a wide range of fun activities which can give your mood a boost;
  • you can try out new things and learn new skills!
  • you can interact with the tutors and other participants in the chat function.

What to expect

There are 12-15 live sessions every week and a library of 2,000 sessions to choose from, all led by expert tutors and presenters, including some well-known faces.

Join in live daily on FacebookYouTube or X, or catch up on YouTube or the Virtual Village Hall website. It’s free to join and take part with no sign in or subscription required. Where activities require equipment, ingredients or materials, these are low-cost and easy to source. There’s more information about how to access the Virtual Village Hall on this link.

A weekly activity timetable is posted on Facebook, YouTube, and X every Monday at 8am. To receive the weekly timetable by email, please contact [email protected], using the subject header ‘Timetable request’.

More information

There are also opportunities to volunteer with the Royal Voluntary Service and lead Virtual Village Hall sessions (among other things). This video shares the experiences of volunteers:

It is free to join in and watch the videos live or after the sessions have been recorded. See the Facebook page for lots of videos of sessions that have already taken place.
