Volunteer with Dementia Carer Support Service

Back to Activities

Dementia Carers Support Service (DSCC) is small team of volunteers supporting carers of people living with dementia. The volunteers are trained, supported and supervised by experienced staff to deliver compassionate listening, signposting and support.

This activity is good for wellbeing because

  • it’s a chance to give back by helping and supporting others
  • a chance to meet new people
  • use the skills you have and learn new ones.

More information

Nearly all of us know someone with dementia.

Many of us find ourselves caring for a parent, partner or family member who has dementia. Some of us who have been there, volunteer to help other people through a similar journey.

Starting from as little as an hour a week, or as much time as you can give, you really can make a difference in many ways.

Whether you want to develop new skills or give something back to your local community, you can support us and make a real difference to
dementia carers’ lives.

This opportunity is free.

If you feel you may need support from this service you can find more information here.
