Wildish Club Cambridge

Back to Activities

Wildish Club is a group for people of all ages and backgrounds to meet up and enjoy nature together. They meet monthly in green spaces around Cambridge to go for walks, learn about nature, host campfires, go wild swimming and more!

This activity is good for wellbeing because

  • The fresh air, natural light and gentle exercise we get when outdoors is of great benefit to health;
  • Everyone is there to meet new people and explore the outdoors together. Both first timers and old timers are always up for a chat;
  • You will learn about outdoor spaces you didn't know existed and can keep going back.

"What a beautiful spring day and how lovely to meet you all and doggos!"

What to expect

Wildish Club is described as "a bit like Cubs but for adults". It is for people who like being outside and like the idea of doing it with others. They meet every month to explore a different green space near Cambridge. Examples include the Cambridge University Botanic Garden, Beechwoods, Grantchester Meadows and Coton Orchard.

Meetups are usually based around a walk, but may include other activities such as nature talks, sketching, photography, film screenings or hands-on activities. Every month is different. Read about past events on the Wildish website.

Everyone is welcome to join. The walks are at an easy pace, with the group stopping often to observe. The focus is on meeting people, noticing nature and learning from each other, rather than racking up miles.

Each event is standalone, so there is no commitment - you can go along once or join every time! Booking is required. Visit the Wildish website to find out more and book onto upcoming events. There is also a link to join the WhatsApp group which is a good way to stay up to date and meet new members.
