What to expect
If you are a young person who is sexually active or thinking about having sex, it is good to be prepared. When used correctly during sex, condoms are the only type of protection that help prevent both sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and pregnancy. A C-Card gives you access to free condoms and lube. If you are sexually active and under 25, you can also access a dual Chlamydia and Gonorrhoea screening test kit from many pickup points. All services are free and confidential.
When you get your C-Card, you will also receive a starter condom and lube pack. The starter pack contains regular, trim and king sizes so that you can find your perfect fit. Once you have tried the different sizes in the starter pack you can then request the specific packs that meet your needs. There are also extra (thick) and latex free packs on request.
More information
To get your C-Card, you can apply at youth organisations, pharmacies or GP practices that are part of the C-Card scheme. Find your nearest location in Cambridgeshire and Peterborough on this link.
- Aged 13, 14 or 15? You need to go to a C-Card Point to have a short discussion with a trained practitioner to ensure that you are safe and supported with your sexual health choices before you join the scheme and get your card.
- Aged 16 to 24? You can join at any location in the scheme.
If you are travelling a long way to a location, you should check opening times and availability before turning up - contact information is on the map on this link.
If you are an organisation, group or venue that works with young people and would like to be a C-Card pick-up point, you can contact Sophie Garton, the Sexual Health Coordinator at Everyone Health via email.

Applying for a C-Card is free as are condoms, lube and test kits.
