Cambridge Citadel – the Salvation Army

The Salvation Army Cambridge Citadel (CAMSA) expresses its faith through charitable work at the heart of the community, providing a Community Hub, various social activities for different age groups, employment support and homelessness support, as well as worship services.

What to expect

CAMSA helps combat loneliness, isolation, financial debt, poverty, mental health issues, homelessness, and more.

Their Community Hub is open to the public from Tuesday to Friday 10am – 2pm. It is a friendly place to go for a drink or something to eat. They offer cooked breakfasts, tea, coffee, cold drinks, panini and a variety of cakes and pastries. Free WiFi is available.

They run the following community groups open to anyone in the community:

  • Bowls Club
  • Knit ‘n Natter
  • Ladies Fellowship
  • Men Aloud
  • Music for kids (children aged 7+)

  • Homeless drop-in with shower, shave, hot drinks, and mobile phone charging
  • Employment support service Employment Plus

There is a small car park behind CAMSA on Tenison Road. This parking is for blue badge holders only. There are also cycle racks available. If travelling by public transport there is a bus stop nearby on Mill Road.

The building is wheelchair accessible, and there are toilets including a disabled toilet.

Next door to the church is Sally Ann’s Salvation Army charity shop, which is open five days a week. It offers low cost items to members of the public, and opportunities for volunteering. You can contact Sally Ann’s on 01223 316161 or  [email protected]

Homelessness support and employment support are available free of charge. Music tuition for children is also provided for children aged 7+ through a junior choir and junior brass band.
