Cambridge Online

Back to Support

Cambridge Online is a charity that helps people improve their digital skills in a friendly, supportive community. You can book a free one-to-one session with a digital champion who will support you to learn new skills and feel more confident online.

What to expect

Cambridge Online can help you to get online by teaching you digital skills. They can also support you to make the most of being online, for example searching and applying for jobs, improving literacy and numeracy skills, shopping online, using Facebook and socialising online.

You can book a one to one support session at the Cambridge Online offices at Allia Future Business Centre. Contact them on [email protected] or 01223 800450 to book your appointment. When you arrive at the Centre let the person at reception know you have arrived, they will direct you to the Cambridge Online offices on the 1st floor. There is a lift available. If you would like to see the layout of the Future Business Centre before your visit, you can take a virtual tour on this website.

There are PCs available at the Centre which you can learn on (including touch screen and height adjustable tables). If you would prefer to learn on your own laptop, tablet or smart phone you are welcome to bring this along.

Seniors Club – Computers, Coffee & Cake

There are drop-in Seniors Club sessions held at various locations around Cambridge, aimed at helping individuals aged 65+ with all things digital. You can ask for support for specific technical issues you may be having with your phone, tablet or computer, or alternatively receive some more general support.

Sessions are held at The Meadows Community Centre in Arbury, the Family Centre on Fisher’s Lane in Cherry Hinton, the Edge Cafe on Mill Road and Clay Farm Centre in Trumpington. Visit the website for information on days and times.

Accessibility

Cambridge Online offer a wide variety of adaptive technologies, including switches, screen readers and voice recognition software.

There are accessible toilets on site, the learning centre is wheelchair accessible and guide/assistance dogs are welcome.

Drop-in sessions are free for people who live in Cambridge City.
