What to expect
Singing for Breathing is facilitated by Joanna Burton, a Singing for Lung Health Practitioner. The group meets during school term time at Brown’s Field Community Centre in Chesterton and also fortnightly online over Zoom. For dates and times of upcoming sessions visit the Talking in Tune website.
In person meetings begin with a cuppa and catch-up, before starting the one hour Singing for Lung Health session. Each session begins with a guided relaxation and body scan after which you will be led through a selection of breath, body and voice exercises, and then two or three songs as a group. The leaders choose a wide variety of songs, which support the aims of Singing for Lung Health, are easy to learn by ear, are fun and will lift your spirits.
If you would like to join the sessions contact Joanna at [email protected] for full, friendly instructions.
More information
In order to take part in the online sessions you will need to have access to a device with Zoom downloaded onto it. For the sessions you should wear loose-fitting clothes, have some water to hand, and a supportive but comfortable place to sit. During these Zoom sessions participants mute their microphones when singing, so you will only be able to hear yourself and the person leading.
Cambridge Singing for Breathing is a project of local community music charity, Talking in Tune.

There is a cost to attend the sessions. Visit the website for more information.
