Cruse is there for the bereaved, offering support, advice and helping to make sense of what is often a sad and difficult time. Cruse is a national charity, with a branch in Cambridge and a national helpline.

You can contact Cruse directly – no referral is required.

Their telephone helpline is run by trained bereavement volunteers, who offer emotional support to anyone affected by grief. Find out more including the hours on their helpline page.

Their website has a range of resources to help you understand and manage grief in this section.

They also offer specialised support and resources to help you support children and young people dealing with grief on this page.

Cruse has a useful page explaining a number of practical things that need to be done in the days, weeks and months after someone dies. See their ‘What to do after someone dies’ page.

Cruse Bereavement Support run a coffee morning most Wednesday mornings from 10am to 12pm in the Refectory at Wesley Church Centre on King Street, where you can spend time with others who have experienced a bereavement. Everyone is welcome, please be assured of a warm welcome. The group provides a place to talk about difficulties and experiences in bereavement with others in the same situation. There is also an opportunity to talk on a one-to-one basis with a trained bereavement support volunteer, if you wish. If you are interested in attending, or would like to find out more, please phone the Cambridge Branch Helpline: 01223 633536 (Open Mon-Fri: 9.30am – 1.30pm) or email [email protected].
