What to expect
Jimmy's provide a range of accommodation for people who are homeless or vulnerably housed in Cambridge, including:
- Jimmy’s East Road
Jimmy's original site on East Road provides 25 en-suite bedrooms for people who would otherwise be sleeping rough. They offer a safe place to stay and essentials such as food, clothing, and toiletries, while working with individuals to understand their needs and support their next steps. - Jimmy’s 451
This service provides accommodation and intensive, bespoke support for 9 people with complex needs who have been unable to maintain accommodation elsewhere. - Supported Houses
Shared houses offer a more independent living option with ongoing support from a dedicated Support Worker. These homes give people the time and support needed to recover from homelessness and move towards independence. - Modular Homes
Working with Cambridge City Council and partners, Jimmy’s provides 22 modular homes across the city. These homes offer independent living alongside full support from the Jimmy's team.
In addition to accommodation, Jimmy's also offer a wide range of other support:
- Personalised Support
Everyone is different, so Jimmy's work closely with residents to provide tailored support. This can include life skills and budgeting, help accessing health services such as registering with a GP, and support around substance use and addiction. On arrival at Jimmy’s, each person is welcomed by Support Workers and Volunteers who are there every step of the way. - Mental Health
Many people who Jimmy's support experience mental ill health. They aim to ensure everyone gets the support they need, either through direct mental health support or by helping people access specialist NHS services. - Recovery
Some people face challenges with drug or alcohol use, often linked to mental ill health or trauma. Jimmy's support people to access specialist services, reduce harm, and overcome barriers to independent living.
