Mental Health Mates Cambridge

Back to Support

Mental Health Mates are a friendly group who meet once a month for a walk around Cambridge. They offer a space to talk about mental health challenges without fear of judgement. You don’t need to have a diagnosed mental health condition to join, the walks are open to everyone.

The group meets on a Sunday morning once a month. You can find details of the next walk on the Mental Health Mates Cambridge Facebook page.

You don’t need to book a place on the walk, just come along! If you would like to get in touch with the leaders beforehand you can phone or text Rachel on 07970869683 or email [email protected]

On the morning of the walk, meet the group outside Stir Cafe on Chesterton Road. The walk leader will take the group on a planned walking route for around an hour.

In that time you can talk to members of the group, share with them or simply walk beside them. There is no pressure to do anything, you can participate in whichever way feels best for you on that day.

The group meets whatever the weather. Make sure to check the forecast ahead so can bring a raincoat if necessary!

Joining the walk is free

Sometimes members choose to continue the meet up over tea/coffee at a café, which you would need to purchase yourself. But there is no pressure to buy anything.
