New Meaning Foundation

Back to Support

New Meaning Foundation builds homes for the ex-homeless and provides training and employment for young people and adults experiencing hardship, homelessness and disadvantage. It has a workshop and alternative education space in Waterbeach.

Young people (age 14+) and adults who are long-term unemployed, ex-homeless, have dropped-out of mainstream education or are otherwise facing disadvantage can learn on-the-job skills to secure employment in the construction industry, alongside gaining Employability and Functional Skills qualifications.

John and the team at New Meaning Foundation can get you back on track, whatever you’ve been through. All of the tutors are supportive, flexible and care about helping you fulfil your potential. There are a number of pathways to gaining skills and qualifications with New Meaning Foundation based on your age, experience and what you want to achieve – find out more here.

If the construction industry isn’t for you, then there is also the opportunity for a New Meaning Foundation tutor to talk to you about other options for work, study, life-skills and independent living.

Wherever you are based in Cambridgeshire or Peterborough, you can attend small group or one-to-one training and courses. If you are concerned about travel costs and arrangements, you can talk this over with one of the team.

If you would like to succeed with New Meaning Foundation, give the team a call for a chat or ask a professional to refer you – this could be your GP, social worker, youth worker or social prescribing link worker.

“I nearly didn’t turn up. I thought ‘it’s not for me, it’s going to be rubbish’ but the very first session we had was really good. Really positive feedback and it sort of gave me a line where I wanted to go in life.”  Fleur
