Creative Cafe at the JunctionBack to Activities
Arts and Minds run a free, drop-in Creative Cafe at Cambridge Junction twice a month. Everyone is welcome to join, particularly those experiencing anxiety, depression or loneliness. It's a great way to connect with others and try something creative in a friendly environment.
This activity is good for wellbeing because
- Creative engagement can improve confidence and self-esteem;
- Creative engagement promotes social connectedness;
- It provides opportunities for you to experiment with different materials and learn new skills.
“A lovely atmosphere. Everyone very generous and encouraging. Interesting conversations.”
“I enjoyed the calm atmosphere and gentle approach and the fact that it wasn’t crowded.”

What to expect
The Creative Cafe is an informal, drop-in session where you can take part in a creative activity while enjoying a free cuppa and a chat! It’s a relaxed setting where art materials are provided and you can engage with them as much or as little as you like.
Sessions run twice a month in the foyer of Cambridge Junction. Visit the website here for details of days and times. There’s no need to book – just go along!
If you are feeling anxious or nervous about coming to a session you can speak to staff at the Junction, they are happy to show you around the venue beforehand.
Cambridge Junction is less than 10 minutes walk from Cambridge Rail Station and buses run regularly – the closest bus stops are on Hills Road and Cherry Hinton Road. Car parking is available in the Cambridge Leisure multi-storey car park on Clifton Way. There are disabled parking spaces on the ground floor level, and more disabled parking spaces can be found in front of the J2 Venue.
All areas in the venue are wheelchair accessible and there are accessible toilets in all areas of the venue. For more accessibility information visit the Cambridge Junction website.
Arts and Minds use the arts to support the positive wellbeing of individuals and communities. They run a range of other programmes, find out more on this page.
Creative Cafe sessions are free of charge, refreshments and all materials are provided. As a small charity, Arts and Minds welcome voluntary contributions from participants to support their costs, but there is no expectation.
