Help You Help Them

Back to Support

Help You Help Them is an online resource where young people can get support and guidance when they are supporting their friends with their mental health struggles. This resource has been made by young people, for young people.

What to expect

The Help You Help Them website contains information and suggestions for young people around:

  • How to approach conversations around wellbeing
  • How to have good discussions: real life things to ask, say and try out with friends
  • Self-help and how young people can look after themselves while supporting their friends
  • How to keep everyone safe

There is also a dedicated signposting page giving information about other places to access support.

More information

The idea for this toolkit came from young people from the Our Voices advisory group. The project was managed by Fullscope and funded by Cambridgeshire County Council. All content, tone and design choices for the website were made by the young people involved in this project, with mental health professional oversight to ensure the content is psychologically safe and appropriate. The project was overseen by a steering group of experts by experience.
