There are several low/no cost activities and groups near Cambridge for people living with memory loss or dementia, and those who care for them.

Cambridge - Memory Cafe and Dementia Choir at TLC Cambridge Manor Care Home

Cambridge Manor Care Home host a free bi-monthly support group for anyone who is living with dementia or supporting someone who is. Go along to enjoy a cup of tea, talk and exchange knowledge, ideas and experiences. Find out more about the Memory Cafe here. They also run a Dementia Choir on the first Thursday of every month. Cambridge - Forever United Yesterday and Today

Cambridge United Foundation run this monthly session at the Abbey Stadium for people living with dementia and their carers. They deliver sports talks, discuss sporting trivia and explore memorabilia. Cambridge - Memory Café at Trumpington Pavilion

This monthly Memory Café is organised by St Mary and St Michael Church and held at The Pavilion in Trumpington. It's a space where people with varying forms of memory loss can support each other and have fun. For more information call 01223 840268. Find out more here.

Cambridge - Dementia Social Group at Arbury Court Library

There is a Dementia Social Group at Arbury Court Library on the last Monday of each month from 10 - 11.30am. It is an opportunity to meet other families and have a chat about how to support each other in a friendly and supportive environment. Refreshments and activities provided. The group is free and there's no need to book, just go along. For more information call 0345 045 5225.

Cambridge - Portals to the World

The University of Cambridge Musuems run monthly sessions across the eight museum sites and the Botanic Garden for people living with dementia and their caregivers. The sessions combine a short talk from a museum specialist with a guided walk, and sessions end with refreshments. The sessions are free and run monthly on Wednesday and Thursday afternoons 2 - 3.30pm . To find out more contact info@museums.cam.ac.uk. Cambridgeshire Libraries - Resources to loan

Cambridgeshire Libraries has resources to support people living with dementia, their families, friends and carers – including memory boxes, dementia-friendly puzzles & games, books and reading lists. If you are a library member, you can borrow these resources on your library card – find out more about what is available here. It is easy to join the library online or by popping in to your local library.

Girton - Memory Café

Co-ordinated by the Cambridge-South Rotary Club, the Girton Memory Café is a friendly gathering of people living with memory loss and their carers. Held in Girton but not just for local residents, find out more here.
